Governor Halloran: Round 3

Ignoring my own advice from earlier this week, I raced through District 8 - Gold Level - to get to my third matchup with the Boss, Governor Halloran. For a mere 15 Stamina Points, welcome to the jungle...

At Gold Level, Halloran starts with 12,000 health. You can call for help on this job. Just to measure up my foe, I attacked without using a consumable, and did just over 800 damage. After all, I have two henchmen to help me. Then it was the Governor's turn...

As always, my henchmen were superb - superbly useless, that is. One attack from Halloran and the first henchman died/fainted/fled/wet his pants... plus I lost over 10% of my health:


That was the last time I let Halloran hit me. Shivs did about 550 damage each and Grenades - lo and behold - did over 300 damage each - and I could use as many as I wanted without being attacked back. Also, the Stun Guns actually let you attack Halloran twice without being attacked back (this was not the case with Dr. Hank Williams, the District 7 Boss). Eventually, the Governor resigned:


The 2,000 XP for winning is a very nice plus, and the Gold Level Hallorans Helicopter has 110 attack and 175 defense. (Not to make this into a grammar blog, but does Zynga know that there should be an apostrophe in "Hallorans"?)

I find Governor Halloran easier to fight than Dr. Hank Williams, as Halloran has no henchmen. Round 4 coming soon to a theater near you...

Prized Pigs #2: Fresh Shank

The second of the Prized Pigs, Fresh Shank, is live (with Boss Hogg going live after midnight). Many players are simultaneously trying to collect Fresh Shank and Curly Tail. This hurried pace is an interesting change from other Mafia Wars challenges that stretche out for weeks.

For Fresh Shank, Bronze mastery requires collecting 3 pigs; Silver = 5; and Gold = 10. As with Curly Tail, you can ask for Fresh Shank and send him as a free gift to your Mafia. As you collect each new pig, your meter will grow:


The prize for completing each level is a Fish Speer, with (59/32) stats at Bronze...



..and (68/37) at Silver.

Release Notes 5

I just want to point out that we can not get the armor parts dropping from jobs or fight.. The only way is by helping your friends on their building request OR by publishing your own help.Of course, you can always use your Reward Points to buy them.. but it's not a wise choice!

Double Mastery Boosts

Some friends got this new feature already on their account..
I got this new Double Master Gift send option which appeared in when doing jobs. Given that I've finished all the jobs (unless it also works with the Dublin jobs which I doubt) this is pretty moot for me.

The people in the list are chosen for me, so I can't choose whom I send these to. It seems they change after some time, dunno how long is the delay.Red!Thanks Red! Got the same info from Tom, VaibhaV, Sidhu, Dele, M Frogi, etc...We will be able to send request to 3 mafias that are already chosen for us..

I’d like to pass this along since my post on the Official Forums keeps getting deleted. Hopefully you can get through to people to stand up so they don’t get taken advantage of.

I had a long frustrated conversation with Zynga billing today over the Loyalty Program. I started off as Gold Level and purchased 50% discount on $1000 RP the other day (after already being in Loyalty Program as Gold).

Once I saw that people had the Platinum (and Diamond) levels, I searched the MW game info to see “how much it would cost” to go from Gold status to Platinum.

When I spoke with Tech Support live Chat, they said they could not help me and referred me to Zynga Billing and provided their phone number.

I asked 2 simple questions:

1) Is it Dollars or LP that is responsible for moving the Progress Bar for the next status level?

2) How many Dollars/LP do “I” need to progress to the next level. Will it cost me $100, $200, $2,000, $2,000,000??? I would like to know before spending more money attempting to reach the next level to see if it makes sense financially to spend the money or not.


Answer to Question 1: It is the LP that is purchased. They could not tell me as they said the program is different for everybody. For instance, if you look closely at the screenshot it says “up to on the Gold and Platinum levels”.

Still Got Bollywood Film Reel?

Lots of friends still see the Bollywood Film Reel on their game drop as free gift or as an item from opening Mystery Bag..Since Mumbai is already over, why is the consumable needed not removed from the Free Gifts page?
Zynga is being stupid nowadays and maybe they can replace the Bollywood Film Reels with the regular Pignata! :)Please check the screenshots..

Game Error on Vegas

The message says "Vault is at capacity" while we can see that his Vault still can hold around 30M of Vegas chips.. Ouch, not a good one, Johan...Hope it's already fixed by now so you can save more chips there..

And our friend here has another Vegas error.. Please read his email to me..
Had this strange bug happen to me. It did NOT affect the game for me in any way and I did NOT loose any mastery on the job.

As you can see the bar is full. It was at first reading -400% so I clicked the job one more time and it started counting down all the way to zero. When it hit zero it then flashed "Job Completed".

I exited out of the game and came back in and I still had full mastery on the job. Just thought you would like the info.

Las Vegas District 7 and 8!

Wooohoooo! New districts are opened, guys!
To mafia players and readers of the blog

thought all mafia players should no, las vegas districts 7 (area 51) and district 8 (hoover dam) are finally open while they don't disappoint, they use a lot of consumable especially hot tips (from district 2 job 1) and hotel security card (district 4 job 3), i managed to complete both these jobs on bronze and get the low level mastery rewards with very impressive stats at this early stage (district 7 is armor the exoskeleton and district 8 is a vehicle the helecopter) look at those stats (screen shot includeded).
and also some new achievement appeared now aswell from gain 1000 victory coins in vegas to simple ones like owning 50 desert spiders (screenshot included)
there is more like new items to gain one including a ufo type item or even a stealth jet but I dont want to ruin it, so enjoy players.. I already am!So here is the screenshot of the new Achievements in Vegas!

Release Notes 4!

I love how they update the info on what's new on this game.. Hope this is going to be a good habit!
Ok, so we know that new Districts of Vegas has being released... I am so exciting but have to be patience since I can not play my game now! Still have something to be done and once I got home, will continue exploring the new Districts!
And have just posted about the new Property : Fountain! (Will discuss more about this when I got the info).
Also, you know it already about the new crates of 7 Deadly Sins! Quite goods on the items but I think it's kind of waste to buy them.. specially when we have new items for Vegas!
Last note is for the new result on Fight! Have posted also about it.. we have new info about fight margins... Are you winning or losing.. along with the new attractive color of the text result!

Where Is My Tournament Collections?

I have wrote on the previous post that Zynga hide our Tournaments collections. They are still there but perhaps not for everyone as of yet. Zynga is toying around with the layout as shown in your screen shots. All the tournaments items are under that Special tab if you click on it and scroll down. Zynga also has put the other non-job related collections there. For example : Valentine's Day Massacre Collection. We also have Easter Crime Basket Collection on this Special tab.. I wonder why it doesn't belong to Crew Collection?

Flashy Game Header

It keeps changing from one item to another.. they are all belong to Free Gift items..Sometimes you can see the Free Gifts icon.., Mysterious Animals, Thai Envelopes, Bollywood Reel, etc..
I thought when you press on any item it will select and send it but it take you to the page! It is just a display item for the available gifts in the free gift page, show features only not function to send right away..

This is the third chapter.. we still have 4 jobs to be done.. each job needs 3 Film Reels and then 4 Reels for the last job.. Will need more Reels when you hit the Job Heat Meter!

Ok, so they have fixed some issues.. I found the interesting part that Vegas jobs and fights now dropping collection items more often! Still we can not get the 7th items easily...Don't lost hope.. keep doing the jobs and fights OR you can put them on wishlist and open your Mystery Bags.. or simply trade with your mafias..
I am glad that Zynga is doing updates on this Game News section... Keep up the good works, guys!

What's Wrong With Zynga?

Some friends complaining that they are still unable to fight the Boss in San Juan! Been 4 days and nothing!The pignatas timer is screwed up... the Slots Machine game is jamming... not to mention the pages only half load!

Free Property Upgrade - Act Now!

This is Hayden email to me about the free Property upgrade this weekend.. The event has started, but we can only free upgrade 1 property for once, so be wise!
I decided to choose to upgrade Mega Casino as I have all properties in other cities upgraded and Mega Casino provided the most money in NY..Thanks, Hayden.. so he chose to upgrade his Mega Casino in New York..

One thing that I have noticed is we have new Zynga game header! Looks nice... they are really trying hard to make the promotion looks better... Thanks to VaibhaV of this one..

Weekend Special - Free Property Upgrade?

Last weekend, some friends got this promo on their Daily Checklist message..
I'm sending you an image where some sort of new feature appears, I've seen it a couple of times this weekend, but when I click on it nothing seems to happen. Well, just wanted to let you know.

Reward Point Pig OR Pignata?

Mafia Wars game has some errors lately...
With some events being released at once, some servers still got some bugs...
Including this one sent by Red!

I have a Reward Pig/Pignata item in my inventory... kinda weird. I can't exchange it or anything. When the Pignata deals are on, the Reward Pig turns into a Pignata instead... It's obvious it uses the same interface - even moreso with my object!

Did anyone else get this?
